Prof. Dr. Hafız kariyeri boyunca uluslararası ve ulusal dergilerde makaleler yayımlamış, Türkçe kulak burun boğaz ders kitaplarına bölümler yazmış, kongre ve panel sunumları yapmıştır. Akademik çalışmalarının önemli bir bölümü cerrahisiyle aynı alanlardadır: baş ve boyun kanseri, ağız ve dil kanseri, gırtlak cerrahisi, tiroit hastalıkları ve mikrovasküler rekonstrüksiyon.
