Prof. Dr. Günter Hafız has practised medicine since 1989 and has been a specialist in ear, nose and throat surgery since 1994. His work is the surgical treatment of head and neck cancer, thyroid and parathyroid disease, cancers of the voice box, mouth and throat, salivary gland tumours and neck masses.

  1. IHead and neck cancer surgerySurgical treatment of cancers of the mouth, throat, voice box, salivary glands, thyroid and neck, with the operation planned for each tumour and each patient.
  2. IIThyroid and parathyroid surgeryRemoval of all or part of the thyroid gland for nodules, cancer or an overactive gland, and of overactive parathyroid glands, with monitoring of the nerves to the voice box.
  3. IIILaryngeal cancer surgerySurgery for cancer of the voice box, from removal of small tumours through the mouth with a laser to partial and total laryngectomy, planned with voice, breathing and swallowing in mind.
  4. IVOral cavity and tongue cancerTreatment of cancers of the tongue, floor of the mouth, gums, cheek and palate, including removal of the tumour, treatment of the neck and reconstruction so that eating and speaking continue.
  5. VSalivary gland tumour surgeryRemoval of tumours of the parotid, submandibular and minor salivary glands, with careful protection of the facial nerve.
  6. VINeck dissection and neck massesAssessment and surgery for lumps in the neck, and removal of the lymph nodes of the neck when a cancer has spread to them or may do so.
  7. VIITransoral laser surgeryRemoval of tumours of the larynx and throat through the mouth, under a microscope, with a laser, leaving no incision in the neck.
  8. VIIIMicrovascular reconstructionRebuilding the mouth, throat, jaw or neck after tumour removal with the patient's own tissue, connected to the neck vessels under a microscope.

How do I make an appointment?

Write on WhatsApp to +90 532 374 81 15 for the quickest answer, call the same number, or send the form on the contact page. Consultations are held Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 17:00.

Where is the practice?

At Selenium Plaza, Hakkı Yeten Caddesi, Dikilitaş, Beşiktaş, on the European side of Istanbul. The full address and a Google Maps link are on the contact page.

What should I bring to the first consultation?

Any biopsy or pathology reports, imaging such as CT, MRI, PET or ultrasound with their written reports (on disc or as files), a list of your medicines, a summary of previous treatment and your insurance details if you plan to use them.

Which insurers are accepted?

Allianz, AXA, Anadolu Sigorta, Mapfre Sigorta, Bupa Acıbadem Sigortası, SenCard, Banka Sigortaları and TBMM Sigortası. Cover depends on your own policy, so check with your insurer before the visit.
